Jared Firestone (also known as the "Jewish Jet") takes Gold in Lake Placid
Jared Firestone wins first gold by an Israeli slider.
Congratulations to Jared Firestone for his big win at the North American Cup in Lake Placid on December 2, 2022. You have now become the 1st Israeli skeleton athlete to win gold. For those of you not familiar with skeleton this is a winter sport where an athlete goes headfirst down ice on a small sled at speeds reaching 80 miles per hour. This big win came right after Jared took silver and bronze medals at the North American Cup races in Park City, Utah.
One of my favorite moments was watching HaTikvah being played at the award ceremony. Mazal tov Jared. DK's Lineup is rooting for the #JewishJet. Jared will next be competing at IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid on December 16th. Good luck Jared!
